Kiến thức, thực hành dinh dưỡng của phụ nữ trong thời kỳ mang thai và cho con bú có ảnh hưởng rất lớn đến sức khỏe của trẻ. Mục tiêu: Mô tả kiến thức, thực hành dinh dưỡng của bà mẹ người Dao có con dưới 5 tuổi. Phương pháp: 144 bà mẹ 15-49 tuổi, tại 4 xã thuộc huyện Bảo Lạc, tỉnh Cao Bằng được lựa chọn và phỏng vấn bằng bộ câu hỏi thiết kế sẵn. Kết quả: Khi mang thai, 20,8% đối tượng ăn nhiều hơn so với khi chưa mang thai, 16,7% ăn kiêng, 95,8% không uống sữa, 15,3% uống viên sắt/acid folic, 100% không uống viên đa vi chất, 56,3% không biết số lần cần khám thai. Sau khi sinh, 91,7% bà mẹ cho trẻ bú sữa mẹ trong vòng 1 giờ sau sinh, 100%bà mẹ chưa hiểu về sữa non, tỷ lệ nuôi con bằng sữa mẹ hoàn toàn trong 6 tháng đầu là 25,7%, 20,8% cho trẻ ăn bổ sung dưới 4 tháng tuổi. Kết luận: Kiến thức, thực hành dinh dưỡng của các bà mẹ người Dao có con dưới 5 tuổi trong thời kì mang thai và cho con bú chưa được tốt.

Abstract

Knowledge and practice in nutrition of womens during pregnancy and lactation has a strong influence on the health of children. Aims: To describe knowledge, practice in nutrition of Dao mothers. Method: 144 mothers aged 15-49 years old, from 4 communes, Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province were selected and interviewed using the structured questionnaire. Results: During pregnancy, 20.8% of subjects ate more food as compared to non-pregnant women, 16.7% avoided unhealthy food, 95.8% did not drink any kind of milk, 15.3% took iron/folic acid supplements, 100% did not drink multiple micronutrient tablets, 56.3% were not aware of the number of antenatal visits. After birth, 91.7% of subjects initiated breastfeeding within one hour of birth, nobody understood about the colostrum, the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months was 25.7%; 20.8% of subjects did not know when complementary foods should be given to the child. Conclusions: Knowledge and practice in nutrition during pregnancy and lactation of Dao mothers who have children under 5 years of age was not really good.
