Ở các nước đang phát triển, là những nơi đang chịu đựng gánh nặng kép về bệnh tật, thiếu máu không những hay gặp ở trẻ bị suy dinh dưỡng, mà còn ở cả trẻ thừa cân, béo phì.

Mục tiêu: Xác định tỷ lệ thiếu máu và một số yếu tố liên quan của học sinh 6-9 tuổi bị suy dinh dưỡng và thừa cân, béo phì ở 8 trường tiểu học vùng nông thôn tại Hải Phòng.

Phương pháp: Nghiên cứu cắt ngang mô tả sàng lọc nhân trắc trên 2.866 học sinh, xét nghiệm nồng độ hemoblobin máu của 892 trẻ và phỏng vấn cha mẹ của những trẻ lấy máu.

Kết quả: Tỷ lệ thiếu máu của học sinh bị SDD thể nhẹ cân, thấp còi và gầy còm lần lượt là 29,3%, 28,3% và 29,6%. Nguy cơ bị thiếu máu ở trẻ bị SDD ở tất cả các thể đều cao gấp hơn 2 lần so với trẻ không bị SDD (p<0,05). Tỷ lệ thiếu máu của học sinh thừa cân, béo phì lần lượt là 8,8% và 7,9%. Nguy cơ thiếu máu của trẻ thừa cân và béo phì ít hơn so với trẻ bình thường lần lượt 45% và 44% (p<0,05). Không có sự khác biệt có ý nghĩa thống kê giữa tỷ lệ thiếu máu của trẻ em với trình độ, nghề nghiệp của bà mẹ và thu nhập của hộ gia đình.

In developing countries where are currently experiencing the double burden of diseases, not only malnourished children but also overweight and obese children are suffered from anemia.

Objectives: To determine the prevalence and associated factors of anemia among malnourished and overweight and obese children aged 6-9 years old in 8 primary schools in rural areas in Hai Phong City.

Methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted to screen for anthropometry on 2,866 children, analyse haemoglobin concentration of 892 children and interview parents/primary caregivers of the children took part blood examination in October 2016.

Results: Prevalence of anemia among underweight, stunted, and wasted children were 29.3%, 28.3% and 29.6%, respectively. Odds for anemia of malnourished children were twice compared with non-malnutrition children (p<0.05). Prevalence of anemia among overweight and obese children was 8.8% and 7.9%, respectively. Risks for overweight and obese children being anemic were less than for normal weight children by 45% and 44% (p<0.05), respectively. No statistically significant difference was detected for the relationships between anemia and mothers’ education level and occupation, and monthly household income.
