Hiệu quả bổ sung bánh quy giàu sắt, kẽm lên tình trạng dinh dưỡng và vi chất ở trẻ em 3-5 tuổi tại xã Eahiu, huyện Krông Pách, tỉnh Đắk Lắk

Với mục đích nghiên cứu hiệu quả cải thiện tình trạng dinh dưỡng của trẻ em bằng bánh có bổ sung sắt, kẽm, nghiên cứu được tiến hành tại trường mầm non Bình Minh, xã EaHiu, huyện Krông Pách, tỉnh Đắk Lắk năm 2009. Đối tượng nghiên cứu được chia ngẫu nhiên thành 2 nhóm: nhóm can thiệp bằng bánh quy có bổ sung sắt, kẽm và nhóm chứng. Thời gian can thiệp là 85 ngày. Đối tượng nghiên cứu được cân, đo, đánh giá tình trạng dinh dưỡng (Z-score CN/T và Z- score CC/T), xét nghiệm hemoglobin, ferritin huyết thanh, kẽm huyết thanh trước và sau can thiệp.

Kết quả: 100% trẻ chấp nhận sử dụng bánh. Chỉ số Z-score CN/T và Z-score CC/T không thay đổi sau can thiệp ở cả hai nhóm. Hàm lượng trung bình hemoglobin tăng 1,577±1,714mg/dL (tăng có ý nghĩa từ 11,360±1,192mg/dL trước can thiệp lên 12,937±1,834mg/dL sau can thiệp); hàm lượng trung bình ferritin huyết thanh tăng 15,555+28,372mg/L (tăng có ý nghĩa từ 50,680±34,862mg/L trước can thiệp lên 66,235±42,479mg/L sau can thiệp); hàm lượng trung bình kẽm huyết thanh tăng 1,366±1,520mmol/L (tăng có ý nghĩa từ 9,040±2,95 mmol/L trước can thiệp lên 10,138±1,686mmol/L sau can thiệp).

Efficacy trial of biscuits fortified with iron and zinc on the im- provement of nutritional and micro-nutrient status in children 3-5 years old in Eahiu commune, Krongpach district, Daklak province

Abstract:

Objective: to study the efficacy on improving of nutritional status of children with biscuits fortified with iron and zinc. It was conducted in Binh Minh preschool in EaHiu commune, Krong Pach district, Dak Lak province in 2009.

Method: Study subjects were randomly divided into 2 groups: intervention group receiving biscuits fortified with iron/zinc and control group. Interven- tion period was 85 days. Weight and height of the children were measured and their nutritional status was assessed (WAZ-score and HAZ-score). Hemoglobin, serum ferritin, serum zinc before and after intervention were evaluated.

Results: 100% of children accepted the biscuits. Index WAZ-score and HAZ-score did not change after intervention in both groups. The average content of Hb increased by 1.577±1.714mg/dL (mean value increased from 11.360±1.192mg/dL before intervention to 12.937±1.834mg/dL after intervention); average level of serum ferritin increased by 15.555±28.372mg/L (mean value increased from 50.680+34.862mg/L before intervention to 66.235+42.479mg/L after intervention); average level of serum zinc increased by 1.366±1.520mmol/L (mean value increased from 9.040±2.950mmol/L before intervention to 10.138±1.686mmol/L after intervention).
