Mục tiêu: Nhằm đánh giá giá hiệu quả cải thiện tình trạng thừa cân-béo phì và tăng lipid máu bằng bổ sung chất xơ polydextrose.

Cách tiến hành: Thử nghiệm can thiệp cộng đồng ngẫu nhiên có đối chứng trên 108  sĩ quan, một nhóm sử dụng 20g sản phẩm Vitan1 (chứa 20g polydextrose)/ngày còn nhóm chứng được dùng 2 viên giả dược.

Kết quả: Sau can thiệp, cân nặng trung bình của cả hai nhóm đều giảm so với ban đầu nhưng nhóm can thiệp giảm hơn so với nhóm chứng (p < 0,05); Các chỉ số trung bình BMI, vòng eo, vòng mông, % mỡ cơ thể của các đối tượng nhóm can thiệp và nhóm chứng đều giảm với trước can thiệp (p < 0,05) trong đó tỉ lệ giảm ở nhóm can thiệp cao hơn; nồng độ cholesterol, triglycerid, LDL-C giảm so với ban đầu và so với nhóm chứng (p<0,05), trong khi đó nồng độ HDL-C tăng (p<0,05);  Độ mềm của phân cũng được cải thiện và làm tăng độ dễ dàng khi đi đại tiện của các đối tượng hơn so với nhóm chứng (p< 0,01).

Kết luận: Bổ sung 20g/ngày polydextrose trong thời gian 4 tháng đã cải thiện được các chỉ số nhân trắc, chỉ số sinh hóa máu (Cholesterol toàn phần, Triglycerid, HDL-C, LDL-C, Glucose) và độ mềm của phân.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of polydextrose supplementation on improving overweight-obesity and lipidemia disorder.

Methods: a community-based control randomized trial in 108 military officers, one group used 20g of Vitan1 (20g polydextrose) per day and the other used placebo.

Results: After intervention, mean weights of both groups were lower than those at the start, but the intervention group’s was lower than that of the control one (p <0.05); Mean BMI, waist and hip circumference, % body fat of both intervention and control group were reduced (p <0.05), but it is at a  higher rate in the intervention group than the control; cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-C was reduced compared to baseline and compared to control group (p <0.05), while HDL-C concentrations increased (p <0.05); The pliability of fecal was also improved and the ease of bowel movement increased in the intervention more than in the control group (p <0.01).

Conclusion: 20g polydextrose/day supplement in 4 months helps improved anthropometry indices, blood biochemical indicators (total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-C, LDL-C, glucose) and the pliability of fecal.
