The study was to understand the practices and influential factors on breastfeeding practices in Rang Dong town of Nghia Hung, Nam Dinh. A cross sectional design was applied using in-depth interview and FGD techniques. To enable the mothers to have optimal breastfeeding practices, a good relationship among traditional family members should be established based on mutual love, care and supports. Family income should also be improved to empower the mothers to be more active in self and child care.
