Nghiên cứu cắt ngang có mục tiêu xác định tình hình thiếu và thừa dinh dưỡng của trẻ từ 6-10 tuổi tại huyện Từ Liêm, Hà Nội theo các tiêu chuẩn của Tổ chức Y tế Thế giới (WHO 2007), của Tổ chức hành động vì béo phì quốc tế (IOTF 2000), và của Trung tâm kiểm soát và phòng bệnh Mỹ (CDC 2000). Tỷ lệ nhẹ cân là 15% theo chuẩn CDC 2000, tỷ lệ gầy còm là 5,8% theo chuẩn WHO 2007 và là 4,6% theo chuẩn IOTF 2000. Có sự khác nhau về tỷ lệ thừa cân và béo phì theo chuẩn WHO 2007 (10,9% và 8,0%), IOTF 2000 (9,8% và 4,5%) và CDC 2000 (7,9% và 7,0%). Tỷ lệ thừa dinh dưỡng (thừa cân, béo phì) cao hơn tỷ lệ thiếu dinh dưỡng (gầy còm và thấp còi) theo chuẩn WHO 2007 và IOTF 2000 nhưng tương đương nhau nếu theo chuẩn CDC 2000. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy có sự chênh lệch về tỷ lệ thấp cân, thừa cân và béo phì giữa các tiêu chuẩn quốc tế đang áp dụng. Cần xây dựng tiêu chuẩn đánh giá tình trạng thiếu và thừa dinh dưỡng riêng cho học sinh 6-10 tuổi Việt Nam.

A cross - sectional study aimed to investigate the status of under - and over nutrition of children in primary schools of Tu Liem District - Hanoi, using the World Health Organization 2007 reference (WHO 2007 reference), the International Obesity Task Force reference (IOTF 2000 reference), and Growth Chart of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC 2000 standard). Waisting prevalence was 5.8% according to WHO; underweight prevalence was 15% according to CDC and 4.6% according to IOTF. There were different prevalences of overweight and obesity according to WHO (10.9% and 8.0%), IOIF (9.8% and 4.5%), and CDC (7.9% and 7.0%). Overnutrition prevalence (overweight and obesity) was much predominant than undernutrition (wasting and stunting) based on WHO and IOTF, while the balance between over and under nutrition was found based on CDC. In conclusion, the significant differenes in prevalence of nutritional status was found among children aged 6-10 years according to the international criteria. It is necessary to develop the proper reference for assessing nutritional status of children aged 6-10 years in Vietnam.
