Mục tiêu: Mô tả sự thay đổi tình trạng dinh dưỡng ở trẻ dưới 24 tháng tuổi tại 3 tỉnh Miền núi phía Bắc thông qua mô hình sản xuất và tiếp thị thức ăn bổ sung tại địa phương.

Phương pháp: Nghiên cứu can thiệp cộng đồng bán thực nghiệm không có nhóm đối chứng qua 2 điều tra cắt ngang độc lập trước can thiệp (n=799) và sau 6 tháng can thiệp (n=680) ở trẻ dưới 24 tháng tuổi 3 tỉnh Lai Châu, Lào Cai và Hà Giang. Các hoạt động can thiệp gồm tiếp thị xã hội thức ăn bổ sung tăng cường vi chất sản xuất tại địa phương và tư vấn dinh dưỡng trên cơ sở hệ thống Mặt trời bé thơ.

Kết quả: Sau can thiệp sự thay đổi có ý nghĩa thống kê (p<0,01) Z-Score cân nặng theo tuổi (tăng từ -0,93 lên -0,73) và Z-Score cân nặng theo chiều cao (tăng từ -0,41 lên -0,16). Tỉ lệ SDD có chiều hướng giảm (p > 0,05) sau can thiệp: SDD thể nhẹ cân giảm từ 15,0% xuống 12,3%; SDD thể thấp còi giảm từ 24,0% xuống 23,2%; SDD thể gầy còm giảm từ 8,8% xuống 7,7%.

Kết luận: Mô hình can thiệp bước đầu cho thấy sự tăng về Z-Score cân nặng theo tuổi và cân nặng theo chiều cao, chưa có sự thay đổi rõ tình trạng SDD của trẻ em dưới 24 tháng tuổi trên địa bàn nghiên cứu.

Objective: To describe the change of nutritional status in children under 24 months of age in 3 Northern mountainous provinces through the local production and marketing model of complementary foods.

Methods: A semi-experimental community intervention study without a control group through 2 independent cross-sectional investigations before the intervention (n=799) and after 6 months of the intervention (n=680) in over 680 children under 24 months of age have enough assessment before and after 6 months of intervention in 3 provinces of Lai Chau, Lao Cai and Ha Giang. Interventions include social marketing of locally produced micronutrient supplements and nutritional counseling on the basis of the Baby Sun system.

Results: After the intervention, there was a statistically significant change (p<0.01) Z-Score of weight for age (increased from -0.93 to -0.73) and Z-Score of weight for each dimension. high (up from -0.41 to -0.16). The rate of malnutrition in children under 2 years old tends to decrease (p > 0.05) after the intervention: underweight decreased from 15.0% to 12.3%; stunting decreased from 24.0% to 23.2%; emaciation decreased from 8.8% to 7.7%.

Conclusion: The initial intervention model showed an increase in weight-for-age and weight-for-height Z-Score, but there was no clear change in the malnutrition status of children under 24 months of age in the study area.
