Cuộc điều tra đã được triển khai tháng 4/2004 tại huyện điểm Thường Tín, nhằm mục tiêu chung là đánh giá hiệu quả các hoạt động can thiệp liên ngành cải thiện an ninh thực phẩm và dinh dưỡng hộ gia đình sau 10 năm (1994-2004). Mục tiêu cụ thể của bài báo là giới thiệu hiệu quả cải thiện kiến thức, thực hành dinh dưỡng của bà mẹ và tình trạng dinh dưỡng của bà mẹ và trẻ em. Áp dụng phương pháp điều tra cắt ngang nhắc lại tại 6 xã trên các đối tượng bà mẹ có con dưới 5 tuổi và trẻ em dưới 5 tuổi. Kết quả cho thấy: Kiến thức, thực hành chăm sóc và dinh dưỡng của bà mẹ, tình trạng dinh dưỡng trẻ em dưới 5 tuổi và bà mẹ có con dưới 5 tuổi Thường Tín Hà Tây sau 10 năm triển khai các hoạt động dinh dưỡng được cải thiện rõ rệt. Cần thiết duy trì, củng cố và đẩy mạnh hoạt động của mạng lưới cộng tác viên dinh dưỡng, đẩy mạnh giáo dục dinh dưỡng qua các phương tiện thông tin đại chúng, nâng cao kiến thức dinh dưỡng cộng đồng đặc biệt là phụ nữ ở lứa tuổi sinh đẻ và "tiền hôn nhân".
An evaluation survey on the impact nutrition intervention activities was conducted in Thuong Tin district in April 2004. The survey’s objective was to assess the impact of 10 year-multisectoral intervention activities on household food security and nutritional status of mothers and children. The paper's objective was to introduce the impact of these intervention on nutrition knowledge and practice of mother and nutritional status of children and mothers with children under five years of age. A repeated cross-sectional survey design was applied in 6 communes covered by the nutrition baseline survey in 1995. Weight and height of all mothers with children under five and children under five were taken to assess their nutritional status with WHO recommended method, NCHS reference. The results showed that nutrition knowledge and practice of mothers, nutritional status of both mothers and under five children have been remarkably improved after 10 year multi-sectoral intervention activities were introduced. Strengthening and reinforcing nutrition collaborator net-work, and nutrition information-education and communication through mass media to improve nutrition knowledge of community, especially women in pre-marriage age are fundamental.
