The Nutrition and Food Training Center of the Institute of Nutrition has just completed a short-term training course on Basic Nutrition, Nutrition Examination and Counseling, and Dietetics for staff implementing nutrition activities in hospitals and in the community.

Here is some information about the course:

I.        Basic nutrition training course (including theory and practice )

II.        Training course on Nutrition and Dietetics (according to the needs of the organization or individual)

• Subjects: 8 health workers, currently working or preparing to work at the nutrition department of hospitals in the following provinces: Binh Dinh, Hanoi Traditional Medicine Hospital, Agricultural Hospital, Vinh Phuc General Hospital, Nghe An General Hospital, Cam Pha General Hospital, Quang Ninh

• Content:
  - For students studying for 1 month: Students are equipped with the theory of general therapeutic nutrition principles and some chronic, acute, and post-operative nutrition-related diseases commonly encountered in hospitals. Practice at the hospital the skills: menu development, menu preparation, food coordination and management, meals, and food safety and hygiene control.

  - For students studying for 3 months: in addition to the above knowledge and practical skills, they will be equipped with how to design and build a standard hospital nutrition department (including personnel and equipment), how to manage and control outside hospital catering contractors to ensure the quality of the menu built by the hospital nutrition department is prepared according to standards.

  
  Time:  7 days of theory at the Institute of Nutrition and practical training at 19/8 Hospital and Bach Mai Hospital depending on student needs, 1 or 3 months 

• Content: Students are equipped with basic nutritional knowledge, how to evaluate and build specific menus for patients and how to examine and diagnose nutrition to provide advice or prescriptions for some common nutritional disorders such as osteoporosis, rickets, anorexia, malnutrition or obesity.

-       Time:   6 days theory

Location:  theory study at the lecture hall of the training center of the Institute of Nutrition

• Lecturers are experienced doctors in examining and consulting nutrition at the clinic and consulting nutrition for adults and children of the Institute of Nutrition.
• The class will continue after 2 months with practical content of nutritional examination and consultation at the clinic and nutritional consultation of the Institute of Nutrition or in the field.                 

III. Training course on Nutrition and Dietetics (according to the needs of the agency or individual)

-    Subjects:  8 health workers, currently working or preparing to work at the nutrition department of hospitals in the following provinces: Binh Dinh, Hanoi Traditional Medicine Hospital, Agricultural Hospital, Vinh Phuc General Hospital, Nghe An General Hospital, Cam Pha General Hospital, Quang Ninh

-   Content:

-        Time:  7 days of theory at the Institute of Nutrition and practical training at 19/8 Hospital and Bach Mai Hospital depending on student needs, 1 or 3 months
