On September 23, 2017, at Thanh Dong University, Hai Duong City, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the National Institute of Nutrition and Thanh Dong University on nutrition training took place with the motto "Training multidisciplinary nutrition standards and creating job opportunities for everyone".

On September 23, 2017, at Thanh Dong University, Hai Duong City, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the National Institute of Nutrition and Thanh Dong University on nutrition training took place with the motto "Training multidisciplinary nutrition standards and creating job opportunities for everyone".

The cooperation agreement aims to enhance training and development of qualified human resources in nutrition to meet the increasing needs of society in ensuring food safety, nutrition and health in the community and nutrition in treatment. Accordingly, the cooperation focuses on 3 main areas: Training (Bachelor of Nursing, full-time, part-time, and joint programs; short-term courses with certificates; postgraduate courses in nutrition); Scientific research (implementing scientific research topics in nutrition at all levels of the school); International cooperation (cooperation with domestic and international organizations in training, research, and development of human resources in nutrition at home and abroad). Experts and lecturers of the National Institute of Nutrition will participate in the Nutrition Training Advisory Council at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, chairing, managing, teaching, conducting scientific research, developing curriculum and learning materials, and performing professional tasks...

According to the survey, 78.6% of hospitals have not met the minimum level of establishing an organizational system to carry out nutrition work, 61.3% of hospitals have not ensured the facilities to carry out nutrition work, 74% of hospitals have not provided a nutritional regimen appropriate to the patient's illness. Due to the lack of human resources for nutrition work, hospitals have not established a nutrition and dietetics department, so the rate of patients being assessed and monitored for nutritional status during hospitalization; patients being instructed and advised on a diet appropriate to their illness; patients being provided with a nutritional regimen appropriate to their illness during treatment. Therefore, training human resources for nutrition work is important. In addition to examination and treatment, hospitals need to ensure nutrition for patients and increase training of staff with expertise in this field.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the National Institute of Nutrition: Associate Professor, Dr. Le Danh Tuyen - Director, leaders of the Nutrition and Food Training Center, and leaders of some specialized units of the Institute. On the side of Thanh Dong University, there was the participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Hung - Rector, and leaders of faculties, especially the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Thanh Dong University. In addition, there was the participation of central and local press agencies.

Also at the ceremony, Thanh Dong University read the decision to establish the Faculty of Nutrition, the decision to appoint the head and deputy head of the Faculty and announced the decision to allow the opening of a bachelor's degree in nutrition training by the Ministry of Education and Training.
