2. Functions:

A unit under the Institute of Nutrition, operating under the direct leadership and management of the Institute's Board of Directors, with professional guidance from the Ministry of Health and related ministries and branches. Has the function of state inspection of food hygiene and safety quality, imported food and biological products related to nutrition according to the needs of society. Applying information technology in implementing ASEAN single-window customs and national single-window customs mechanisms.

Advising the Director of the Institute in the management and development of information technology (IT) applications in the Institute's fields of operation. Manage and operate the Institute's existing information network, apply and develop software systems in the management, training, scientific research and services of the Institute. Advise, propose and coordinate in purchasing and upgrading equipment and means used in the Institute's information technology system.

3. Tasks:

a) Tasks of State inspection of food safety and nutrition

• State inspection of imported food safety and hygiene quality.

• Apply IT in implementing ASEAN single-window customs and national single-window customs mechanisms for 02 administrative procedures in the field of food safety.

• Coordinate testing and inspection activities of imported food at laboratories to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Coordinate with other relevant units to conduct inspection and testing of biological products related to nutrition, as prescribed and according to social needs.

• Participate in international cooperation and integration on food safety and biological products related to nutrition.

• Participate in training, inspection and comment on documents on food hygiene and safety as assigned.

• Other tasks as required by the Director.

b) Information technology tasks

• Manage and maintain the stable operation of the information network system in the Institute, connect the information network between units in the Institute and between the Institute and the Ministry of Health, and related public service units.

• Organize the design and installation of information technology equipment for units in the Institute. Proactively advise, propose and coordinate in the purchase and upgrade of equipment and means used in the Institute's information technology system to ensure quality.

• Manage and maintain the operation, promptly update information on the Institute's electronic information page (Website), gradually improve the quality of the website, serving the development of the Institute.

• Developing IT software applications in the management of the agency and developing the services of the Institute in the coming time.

• Managing and proposing the repair, maintenance and maintenance of the infrastructure of the entire information technology system of the Institute and the computer room. Consulting and proposing to the Institute in the work of upgrading, repairing and installing IT systems throughout the Institute.

• Providing information technology support for users in meeting rooms, lecture halls and conferences and seminars of the Institute.

• Troubleshooting the Institute's information network, supporting computer problems, reinstalling printers and removing viruses... in units in the agency.

• Having a plan to advise on training and fostering knowledge of IT application in management work, scientific research activities and service development of the agency. Applying technology to improve work efficiency.

• Research, advise, propose, and implement solutions to ensure safety and security for the agency's information systems and databases.

• Develop annual and long-term plans to upgrade equipment, apply and develop the Institute's IT system to meet the Institute's long-term development requirements.

• Participate in developing international cooperation projects and proposals in the field of information technology.
