To assess knowledge attitude and practices on food safety and the utilization of food additives in Quang Binh, a cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among all 164 owners of food producing shops (noodles, bread, rolls, spring) in three districts and provincial town in 2009 using a structured questionnaire.

A 2-year cohort study, aiming to evaluate impact of nutrition product“davita” (containing multi-micronutrients and protein) on nutritional status of children from birth to 24 months old was conducted in Soc Son District, Ha Noi capital from 2007 to 2009. The results showed that the prevalence of child stunting in Soc Son now is still of high level classified by WHO 1997 (28,7%).
The study aimed produce tablets to supplement iron, zinc, vitamin C, folic acid and amino acid for pregnant women. Selected ingredients to produce were DSM premix, USA isolated soybean protein and whey protein concentrate. Materials after being granulated were dried into 2 phases: 1st phase: 40 degree C in 6 hours and 2nd phase: 45 degree C in 5 hours.
The authors briefed the current nutrition situation of Vietnam, including maternal and child malnutrition, micro-nutrient deficiencies, overweight/obesity, food intake and maternal nutrition knowledge and capacity of nutrition network. They once again emphasized the importance of preventive approach in nutrition for the country.
A cross-sectional study was conducted in November, 2011 on 80 weaning children aged 13-18 months in an urban ward and a suburban commune of Hanoi. Its objective was to describe complementary food consumption of children 13-18 months old by measuring food intake during 24 hours.

A control clinical trial was conducted in 10 healthy persons aiming to identify the Glycemic index of some mid-autumn sticky rice cakes (green bean-pineapple leaves, lotus nut-green tea, green bean-gac fruit) using Isomalt.
Objective: To describe physical activity (PA) among 5 year old children. Method: Body weight and height of 96 children (51 boys, 45 girls) at 5 years old at the kindergarten A Ha Noi were measured. Subjects were asked to wear an accelerometer (Omron Active style Pro HJA – 350IT) while awake, during running of walking for 5 consecutive weekdays and not to wear while taking a bath or swimming.

To validate a method to analyze clenbuterol in pork/ chicken meats by High Performance Liquid Chromatography with detector UV and surveyed the clenbuterol residues in the main foodstuff markets in Hanoi, we carried out a study at Department of food hygiene and safety at the National Institute of Nutrition in 2011.
Case control stunting with 481 stunting children and 450 non-stunting children was carried out in Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh province. The results showed that prevalence of diarrhea in stunting group was 15.6%, significantly higher (p<0.05) than that in non-stunting group (11%).
The objective of this study is to validate ion chromatography method for the determination of Na, K, Mg and Ca in food. Food items were selected from the list that have no data in the Food Composition Table. The food samples were ashed and then diluted by chlohydric acid prior to the quantification of minerals using cation exchange chromatography.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of early de-worming and multi-micronutrient supplementation on stunting children who are Pakoh and Van Kieu ethnics in Quang Tri province. Methods: A cluster randomized, controlled clinical trial was conducted among 284 stunting children, in which had 141 worm infection.
