The study was conducted in Social Protection and Support Centers of 15 Northern provinces aiming at describing the current nutritional situation of the children and some risk factors. Methods: Nutritional status of the children was assessed by anthropometric indicators and the centers’ care givers and cooks were interviewed.
An assessment of the current food intake and nutritional status among adolescent girls was carried out on 1202 female students at secondary and high schools in Duy Tien (Ha Nam province).
A cross -sectional study was conducted in 1217 subjects in Hai Duong city to determine the rate of overweight/ obesity and blood lipid disorders among overweight/ obesity targets ageds 30-59. The subjects with BMI ≥ 25 voluntarily participated in the study. Their total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-C, LDL-C were identified to determine the rate of blood lipid disorders in obese people.

The study was conducted in June/2008 in Nui Doi town - Kien Thuy district – Hai Phong. Objectives: to determine malnutrition rate and describe some risk factors related to malnutrition in children. A study was conducted in 2008 in 4029 restaurants and food kiosks by interviewing the 4029 owners in 14 districts of the old Hanoi. The objective is to assess knowledge and practices on food safety with cross-sectional descriptive and analytical method. The results showed that majority of owners were females (72.1%) and they used to be farmers or unemployed (56.2%). Most of them had less than 2 assistants (89.7%).

The cross-sectional study was conducted in June 2005 in 513 children under 5 belonging to Satieng, Chau Ma and Kinh minority and 648 women aged 15 – 49 in Ta Lai commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province. Food survey was also conducted in 135 households.

BPA is extracted by using mixture of tricloacetic acid 2%: methanol (9:1) then the extractive fluid is washed through Oasis HLB cartridge. The final solution is analysed by liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
The roles of protein and multi-nutrients in children diet are essential, particularly for their growth and development. Diet quality of rural people is remarkably poor compared to that of urban people.
A cross-sectional study was carried out at the end of 2005 to assess the nutritional status in children 11-14 years old in Binh Luc district, Ha Nam province. Body weight, height of 2671 children (male/female= 50.6%/49.4%) were collected and compared with those of Vietnamese children of the same age and gender in 2 previous periods: before 1975 and between 1981‑1985.
120 subjects aged 30-60 years old with abnormal blood lipid indicators received 4 capsules of garlic-folate/day for 12 weeks (3 months). The results indicate that the intervention group has some positive results in lipid indicators: significant reduction of total cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol, compared to that at the beginning of the study and with the control group; trend of reduction of triglyceride and HDL-cholesterol was observed, but not significantly.
With the aim of study is to evaluate current nutritional status of workers in Thai Nguyen Steel Factory and related factors, a cross- sectional and retrospective study was carried out. The results showed that: The rate of overweight and obesity is high (43.67%). The rate of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes is also high (41.67%).
