The Institute of Nutrition is designated by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Food Safety as a testing facility serving the State management of food quality, hygiene and safety. The Institute participates in inspection teams to collect samples for testing of food quality and safety indicators as designated by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Food Safety.

The Institute conducts testing activities for the following goods:

• Food
• Raw materials, food additives, food processing aids
• Water, environment
• Packaging, materials in direct contact with food
